And we thought 2 days of Breeders' Cup races was alot!
Because the U.K. is 6 hours ahead of the U.S., the races start in early morning here and finish at 1 p.m.

I sent you another message Athena. Mommy was home sick yesterday & watched most of the races before she just had to go to bed. It was MUCH better this year than last year. She can't wait to watch Saturday.

So did she see the race that Shang Shang Shang ran in? She's a 2 year old filly and in this race, running against the boys. I think most of us root for fillies that run against the males.
Watch this young baby run her heart out against older guys. You can't miss her, her jockey is in the yellow silks:

She did see Shang, Shang, Shang's race. Yes, we do root for the females against the boys. That was one of the closest finishes we've ever seen without a dead-heat! That was a Win & Your In Breeder's Cup Race too!

Oh, it was on NBC and not NBC Sports Channel? Aww, I could have watched it.
Hooray for Shang Shang Shang. That was a really CLOSE finish!

It was only on NBC on Saturday, the last day. The other days, it was on NBC Sports. I didn't realize that until later on. It was much better this year, but the only time the horse won that Mommy was pulling for was the Shang, Shang, Shang race. It stinks when your horse/horses have a bad finish. If your TV has free On Demand, you may be able to pull up all the races. I don't know if it's on yet, but last year on Mommy's TV, they had all of the races for all the days free On Demand.

The Ascot race course has a straight one mile track. Kind of odd when you first watch it. So the people in the stands really don't see much of the race except in the last quarter mile. Although every horse has a real good chance since no one looses ground like they do on a course with turns. Still, a lot of horses cut in front of other horses. I think there would be inquiries in the U.S.
Mom did pick a few winners even though she didn't know any of them. A few of the winners will probably come to the Breeders' Cup races in November at Churchill Downs in Kentucky.

In this Royal Ascot race, watch for Arthur Kitt (light green racing silks), one of the horses Mom was rooting for after hearing his sad, sad story. His mother, Ceiling Kitty, won this same race in 2012. Hear his story with pictures after the race:www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1v8y6_EdHM

October 7. 2007 is the day one of the great racehorses went to the Bridge; John Henry -- started racing as a 2-year old and was still winning at 9 years old.
The last race of his career:

John Henry was something special, there's no denying that. I remember him most as being the horse that won the first ever Arlington Million. John Henry's final race record stood at 83 starts, 39 wins, 15 seconds, and 9 thirds with $6,591,860 in earnings.
