The Robert Abady Dog Food Co. has recalled Abady Highest Quality Maintenance & Growth Formula for Cats because of potential salmonella contamination. The food was sold in stores and online throughout the United States
The recalled product comes in two, five, and 15 pound corrugated boxes with plastic liners. They're marked on the top right hand side of the box with the code Lot # 14029/21.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall on Pro-Pet cat and dog food because of salmonella fears. Food manufactured during a two-day period may be contaminated, according to the company.
The food was sold in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The affected cat foods are:
18 lb Hubbard Life Cat Stars Cat Food, best by 05 06 14, Lot 096 13 SM L2 1A, UPC 1219033873

PMI Nutrition has recalled 20 pound bags of its Red Flannel Cat Food for potential salmonella contamination. Although there haven't been any reports of illness, routine testing by the FDA Detroit District Office found possible salmonella in the food.
A third party manufacturer makes Red Flannel Cat Food for PMI. The affected cat food has a "best by" date of 05 06 14 and lot number 096 13 SM L2 1A. The UPC code is 7 42869 00058 5.
The recalled cat food was sold in the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin and West Virginia. Proctor and Gamble has just recalled several lots of its Eukanuba and Iams dry cat and dog food because of potential salmonella contamination. Go to the press release here for a complete list of the recalled foods, which is quite lengthy.

Dogswell voluntarily recalled its chicken and duck jerky treats for cats and dogs after the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets found that Dogswell Happy Hips Chicken Jerky contained trace amounts of antibiotic residue not approved for use in the United States.
The recall covers both Catswell and Dogswell brands. The chicken and duck jerky was sold under the Breathies, Happy Heart, Happy Hips, Mellow Mut, Shape Up, Veggie Life, Vitality, and Vitakitty brands. The "Best Before" date is on or before January 28th, 2015. Products with later dates are not part of the recall.

Natura today announced that it's recalling all its pet foods and treats/biscuits with expiration dates prior to June 10, 2014. The recall includes the brands EVO, Innova, HealthWise, California Natural, Mother Nature, and Karma.
This cat food recall happened in response to an FDA test in April that showed salmonella in a product manufactured on April 3. There was only one positive test, but the company is recalling the products mentioned above as a precautionary measure.

Bravo has expanded its March cat and dog food recall as a precaution. The pet products in question did not test positive for salmonella, but they were made on the same day and the day after a product that come up positive.
The recalled products are: item #21-405 - 5 lb chub (tube) of Bravo! Chicken Balance frozen raw diet with "best used by" dates of 3-6-15 or 3-12-15 printed on the package's plastic casing; item # 21-102 - 2 lb. chub (tube) of Bravo! Chicken Blend frozen raw diet with a "best used by" date of 3-21-15 printed on the package's plastic casing; and item # 51-508 - 5 lb. bag of Bravo! Beef Blend Burgers with the "best used by dates" of 3-21-15 or 3-22-15 printed on the plastic bag's back panel.

Natura has expanded its recall include additional dry cat food and treats. The affected food has expiration dates that run from Jan. 1, 2014, and March 24, 2014, while the recalled dry cat treats have expiration dates from July 1, 2013, to September, 27 2013.

Bravo! has recalled a limited amount of its Raw Frozen Diet Chicken Blend food for cats and dogs. The two-pound tubes affected by this recall were made on June 14, 2012.
The product code of the recalled food is 21-102, and the batch ID code is 6 14 12. The tubes may be contaminated by salmonella because the Minnesota Department of Agriculture found problems when it tested a batch. Bravo! says the food was tested by an independent laboratory before being sent to retailers and did not contain any salmonella at that time.

Diamond Pet Foods has voluntary recalled its Premium Edge adult dry cat food, kitten dry food, and senior cat hairball management food. Diamond Naturals kitten dry food is also part of the recall. There's no contamination danger, but the food might not contain enough thiamine (vitamin B1). That nutrient is needed by cats for proper nervous system function.
This recall is centered in Canada, where the food was distributed in Quebec and Ontario. The packages range from 170 gram sample packets to to 2.7 kilogram and 8.1 kilogram bags. The expiration dates run from July 2013 to January 2014.
If you have any of this food, return it for replacement or refund.

Nature's Variety recalled a batch of its Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula For Dogs & Cats because packages in the batch might contain plastic pieces. This could pose a choking hazard to pets.
The recalled product is marked with a 10/4/13 "Best if Used By" date. The following sizes are recalled: UPC# 7 69949 60137 1 Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula medallions, 3 lbs. bag; UPC# 7 69949 70137 8 Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula medallions, 27 lbs. case; UPC# 7 69949 60127 2 Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula patties, 6 lbs. bag; and UPC# 7 69949 70127 9 Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula patties, 36 lbs. case.

Some Petco stainless steel bowls are radioactive because of Cobalt-60 contamination. Although they don't post an immediate danger, you should return them for a refund.
The affected bowls are:
•SKU 1047493, PETC-3.75C DEEP TWO TONE NOTIP, 9.25" diameter; 3.75 cup capacity
•SKU 1386956, PETC-3.5C NO-TIP SS HAMMRD BWL, 9" diameter; 3.5 cup capacity
•SKU 1047477, PETC-7C TWO TONE NONTIP BOWL, 9" diameter, 7 cup capacity
SKU numbers are printed on the labels on the bottom and inside the bowls.
The bowls were sold between May 31 and June 20, 2012. If you have one, return it to your local Petco store for a refund. Call Petco Customer Service at 877-738-6742 with any questions.

Arthur Dogswell LLC has voluntarily recalled Catswell Brand VitaKitty Chicken Breast with Flaxseed and Vitamins because the Food and Drug Administration found high levels of propylene glycol in the treats.
Although no illnesses or deaths have been reported, the chemical can cause serious health problems like anemia and blood cell damage, according to the FDA.
Affected treats were distributed between April 13 and June 14, 2012, through mail order and in retail stores. They were packaged in resealable two-ounce orange plastic bags, with a clear window.
The following VitaKitty Chicken Breast with Flaxseed and Vitamins lot codes are part of the recall: SEW12CH032701/03c, with a best before date of 9/10/13, and SEW12CH032702/03cbe, with a best before date of 9/11/13. The UPC is 8 84244 00057 2.

Freezer packs have sickened one dog and killed another when the canines chewed on the gel packs. Cats are also in danger of chewing the packs and ingesting the sweet-tasting chemical inside. The packs in question are being recalled:
-The Expandable Insulated Lunch Box with Freezer Gel Pack, an insulated lunch box set with a navy blue, red, black or denim blue colored lunch box, aluminum bottle and freezer gel pack. Look for the “Ci Sport” logo on the front of the lunch box and the code “1-61731-99-57” on a white label inside the box. The gel pack has “Cryofreeze” and “Ice Pack/Hot Pack” printed on the front.
-The Travelin' Chef Expandable Thermal Food Carrier, a four-piece food carrier set with a light blue thermal carrier, two plastic food containers, and a freezer gel pack. There's a white label in the main compartment with code “1-38018-69-07.” The gel pack has “Cryofreeze” and “Ice Pack/Hot Pack” printed on the front.

Nestlé Purina is recalling bags of Purina One Vibrant Maturity 7+ dry cat food that are potentially contaminated with salmonella. They were made in single production run in late 2010 and were sent to retail customers in 12 Midwestern states. Call 1-800-982-6559 for refund information.
The recall is for bags with a "Best by" date of May 2012 (The "Best by" date and production code are at the back or bottom of the bag) and includes 3.5-pound bags, with production codes of 03341084 and 03351084 and UPC codes of 17800 01885 and 7-pound bags with production codes of 03341084 and 03351084 and UPC codes of 17800 01887.
