I got this from the Catster Buddies Facebook group. I'm sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else on here. I am still learning this site:
UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!!!
New person to call at Catster/ Dogster.
Called Lumina, got the operator, instead of transferring to someone(like last time), she gave me the email & Number to who to call and write to directly, her name is Crystal Apilado. So, can not say for sure, but, am hoping that this is a good sign, that we might be getting thru to them. So, keep calling and writing, and if you call, and get voicemail, leave a message or try back later. If you want, you can still write to both, Crystal & the contact page too. I would also, use the same email addy, you to sign in with Catster/Dogster. I ask the operator that they must be getting a lot calls, never got a answer. You can also use the talking points below too. Please ask Crystal to pass your email & phone message to David Fry, Chairman. & Keith Walter, Chief Executive Officer of Lumina. If you wish.

Ok, all Kitties and Doggies, I decided it's time for the Hail Mary Pass, a shot in the dark, or we have nothing to lose, why not. Ok, I found a link to I-5 were we can send and call in our comments, please send them a nice email and phone call on why we would like them to keep us open.
This for if you write the Contact page.
When you write, 1- Adress it to David Fry, Chairman. & Keith Walter, Chief Executive Officer of Lumina. 2- Please Thank them for the extention and how nice it was to be able to still get into Caster/Dogster to see your pets pages. Then let know how much you would like to see the Caster/Dogster to stay open, and why. Also, add how our family at Caster/ Dogster's means to you and if you ever needed any support from it, when a pet got sick, hurt, or passed away. I am leaving some writing points that you can include. Feel free to send one or all with your comments. As allways, keep on sharing!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You.
Talking points:
First of all, we all know if they want to, this club can be fixed. So far, nobody has said nothing on how much it would to take to fix it. So, going to throw out some numbers.
Lets say Plus goes up to $30.00, a decent price, most people will pay. We get a 1000 plus members in Dogester & get a 1000 plus members in Catsters, that's 2000 Total a year.
2000 x $30.00= $60,000.00 a yr. Also, what they would charge for advertising and you get $60,000.00+ a yr coming in. It could also more or less too.
Now, lets say it takes $100,000.00 to rebuild & advertise the site, that would mean, it would take two years, maybe longer or less to break even and they could be making a profit. It could cost more or less too.
Now, the important part, the site. First, in my opinion, they would need to work with us on what we would like the site to be like, I know we keep it like it is now(Except the homepage), maybe get a few things back Stupid Media took away. Maybe add a thing or two. What I would like to see added is when you go to a pets page, have like a F or a check mark that's says, you are friends with them.
My biggest complaint is the homepage!!!!!!!! Get rid of that piece of crap, it has nothing to do with a club. We joined in 08, and that was one of the reasons, why we joined. We loved that Homepage, if they still want to keep the magazine, they could link it on the homepage.
How to get people back here?
1-Fix it and keep up and running.
2-Advertise & word of mouth, give people who are not plus members 30-90, free trials.
3-Put adds in Friskies, 9 lives and other cat and dog food sites.
4-Put little flyers in Cat & Dog food bags, kitty litter bags and buckets, or how we found out about Caster, a flyer in a 4 pack of 9-lives. Or glued on to Cat & Dog food cans.
5-Last, word of mouth. We put out in social media, plus other clubs, because I know a lot of us do not want to leave, and join another site, But, will come back if this site is fixed and running like it was before Stupid Media bought it.
So, I hope this makes any sense. I Purr and Pray that John shows this to the Big shots. If anyone has any more ideas, please add them.
If you call. hit 0 for the operator, ask to talk to the CEO or the Chairman of Lumina, and you to leave a message about Catster/Dogster closing, she will trasfer you to the person who runs Catster/Dogster. If you get voicemail instead of the operator, that takes you to the general voicemail box. You can leave a message there too, but, going to who runs Caster/Dogster will be a lot better, you just need to call back. Or, just leave a message in both.
