I wasn't really looking for a kitten, we already had our indoor/outdoor cat Cool, and were busy doing other things in our lives. One day a friend I work with called me and said that a cat had kittens underneath the house she was renting and she was going going to take one and tame it since they were feral. I told her I would think about it and get back to her.
Well two weeks later she called again and told me that she had found homes but there was one kitten left and if I wanted it she would catch it for me. After I found out it was long haired and a male I talked to my husband and he said that he knew that I have never really had a kitten, most of our cats were wanderers that came to our house and he said to go ahead.
When I first saw Macy he was running under the porch of the house, but to my dismay my friends son was in hot pursuit with a fishing net, cornered Macy and once he got him in the net he tossed him into a pet carrier and handed him to me.
So my hopes of a happy playful kitten turned into two months of him only coming out at night to meow at the windows due to being feral and the trauma of the net. With a heavy heart, we left for a weeks vacation with our neighbor coming to feed our under the bed living cat.
When we got home I was greeted at the door by a ball of fluff that started to rub against my legs and now 11 years later I have my babes that sleeps with me at night and cuddles on my lap, Macy finally became mine.
