I read on the Catster FB page that someone was using the Tidy Cat lightweight litter and the vet states that her cat died from it, due to inhalation of the dust. This also caused a rash and hair loss. So if you use this litter just be on the lookout for any issues your cat may be having.

I tried this litter - ONCE. While it is lightweight, there was sooo much dust, it got on everything! I used the one bottle, but when it was time to dump the box, that was it. I have tried so many different litters, as I am sure all of you have. Honestly what I have found for my needs, I mix clumping Tidy Cat with walnut litter. It is abit more lightweight, and still clumps good. I wish Tidy Cat made unscented though.

I'm glad we didn't use it. I almost got some when it first came out but decided not to.

OMC! Hello Cat furriends,
Oh, I'm so sorry for the Vet that lost her precious cat!
We are not safe anywhere are we?
I read a few years back, that all clay litter is bad, because the clay turns hard & clumps in their bodies. Then, they starting coming out with so many natural alternative varieties of litter.
Kally Kat doesn't mind the World's Best Cat Litter & I don't see any dust at all. It clumps well & there isn't any odor as I'm mostly home to always clean up. Best of all the red bag is the best & unscented, still light weight too!
Purrs & more purrs tew all Cats & kitties! ~mew~

That's just crazy, I read that last night abiut the litter, we used to use it and Tigger got sick, maybe some of you remember that, but I changed everything, well except his food, he's picky, and he is slowly getting his hair back and gaining weight.
I hope it keeps going good with him....

I thought Tidy Cat had unscented clumping litter. I thought I bought it a few times. I use the scented Tidy Cat because it smells nice in the bathroom and my cats don't seem to mind it.

I read on the Catster FB page that someone was using the Tidy Cat lightweight litter and the vet states that her cat died from it, due to inhalation of the dust. This also caused a rash and hair loss. So if you use this litter just be on the lookout for any issues your cat may be having. Hi Macy Dad is handicapped so the light litter is a real help in getting it up and down the stairs. Now that part is nice but it is very very dusty. We mostly buy the large pound container and when you get to the last 1/8th it is like a sandstorm! It is so sad that kitty went over the Bridge but she must of had some lung issue before hand. Our Rumpy has Asthma and is on medication so dust is a big issue for us. Luckily there is a dust fix! When we tried Arm & Hammer lightweight it had very little dust, but, expensive for 7 kitties. We found that when added to the TC it holds the dust down. When Dad gets a new container of Tidy Cat he pours some out and then adds like 2-3 cups of the Arm & Hammer. Something in there holds the dust down! Rumpy is happy, Dad is happy, we like to dig in it and the lady who dusts likes it too. ***If you have a cat with Asthma or another lung issue always consult with your veterinarian about care and managing the illness***
