Felix has some serious big issues going on, he will have to have his other luxating patella fixed, 2 ruptured cruciate ligaments repaired, and the heads of his femurs removed. On top of this the vet feels he has some sort of genetic mineral deficit & maybe osteoptrosis (not osteoporosis) I am looking all over for any info I can find anywhere...

I'm sorry to hear this. That sounds very worrisome, and like it is causing painful issues to Felix. I hope if he is in pain he is getting pain medication. Bone pain is appalling.
Depending on where you live (US? another country?), I wonder if there is a veterinary teaching hospital accessible such as Penn, Cornell, UT-El Paso etc. that might have vets on staff who specialize in bone health. There may be drugs available to strengthen or mineralize his bones, as there are for osteoporotic humans - but a specialist would know best. Sending many purrs for your boy.

This was posted at the Catster Buddies Facebook group when I asked for others assistance:
By Kaz S:
Sam ruptured one of her cruciate ligaments. I know she would be a bad patient and I've also seen cats heal reasonably well without the surgery. So I opted not to have the surgery to repair it. That was some years ago now and she is fine. It'll be once in a while we may wonder if she is limping but normally she walks and runs like she hasn't a worry in the world. Looks like you have one fragile kitty. But that was just one this kitty has a lot more going on. Your question is if you get all of this done will something else pop up and that looks like it'll be the case will the surgery put too much pressure on the other bones as they sound like they can shatter too. Or do this all happen from an accident? If not you have a glass kitty you should see what humans do for glass kids.

Aww thanks for asking for us Macy - I appreciate it! I am waiting to see what the specialists say. That vet clinic is part of the University of Illinois, so they are good. Felix has buprenex for the bad days, and when I can get the gabapentin down him, he has that. (he is very hard to pill) He cannot take tramadol, it makes him sick. He gets cosequin too. I am not in a hurry to do surgery on his right leg again - like I said, I should hear from the other doctor some time this week, then we will see. Thanks all! purrs appreciated!

UPDATE: Felix saw the internist this week, and they are sending his xrays down to U of I, to Michigan State, and blood work even to Pennsylvania! She is seeing what other vets/researchers think. She also is doing an intensive mineral, calcium type blood test to try & see what the heck it is. He will be taking Onsior long term, which is kind of like the kitty equivalent of ibuprofen. There could be some kidney issues with it down the line, it is unknown, as some do, some don't. However the vet feels that it is better for him to live pain free for a year or two less, than those extra years in pain, and I agree. Plus it does not mean he will even have kidney issues. I won't hear anything now for a couple of weeks, so I will update. Oh she also took him of the lactulose, and wants him to take Miralax. She says it works better. He is not thrilled with that in his food, so I gotta figure something out...
