That's not weird at all, Monte! Mom likes to visit old cemeteries, too. In fact, she and her friend toured one during their visit. It was very interesting. Mom needs to get to bed soon, so Felix and I have to go now. We had a great time tonight! Good night, everyone!

Monte, Mama likes to visit old cemeteries as well! She has visited a lot of them around the country as well as in our own area.
The guide books had warnings about the ones in New Orleans, though. Because the mausoleums are all above ground, they are high crime areas, because it’s easy to hide your crimes in them. The guide books warned to only visit in large groups, because people are assaulted there.

I was going to say a cemetery is a nice place to walk since the residents can't harm you, but that's too bad that people can get hurt in New Orleans cemeteries.
Momsmom is in our very small local cemetery, next to a Civil War veteran.

This is one of Mama’s favorite songs from the 80s:
“ I was born in the rain of the Ponchatrain Beneath the Louisiana moon Don't mind the strain of the hurricane She comes ‘round every June
And high black water She's the devil's daughter She's hard and she's cold and she's mean Nobody told her That it takes a lot of water to wash away New Orleans! “

Mom walks the cemetery near our house once and awhile, there are stone in the back that date to the early 1800's. There is another cemetery about an hour from her house that actually has a statue of the girl that died on her wedding day encased in glass with her wedding dress on it, that is the early 1800's too she thinks

How sad, died on her wedding day. I wonder what happened.
Yes we have those little cemeteries around here. They are so interesting, to walk around and see how far back the earliest tombstones go.

We have ones around here dating to the early 1800s. This area was settled in the 1810s.

Mama is a history buff. On vacations, Mama drags Daddy to a lot of historic people’s graves. American founding fathers, Laura Ingalls and Almanzo Wilder family members graves, Hank Williams Sr, presidents, etc. Famous people in old-time history. Daddy thinks it’s silly. MOL.
