I brought the food and drink! And some music!
KENTUCKY BURGOO: Burgoo is a spicy stew, similar to Irish or Mulligan stew, often served with cornbread or corn muffins:
CHEESE GARLIC GRITS:
BOURBON SLUSH: A fruity blend of juices, tea and bourbon whiskey are frozen into a slush, and then served topped off with lemon lime soda:
BREAD PUDDING WITH BOURBON SAUCE:
And, of course, Mint Juleps!
And that Kentucky Derby song which my Mama just loves:

Athena will make her picks for the Derby.

** Ætheling sits down next to Apollo, carrying his full tray ** I just saw her over there. I only now put in my own picks as well. These juleps are so delicious, I have to be careful not to drink them too quickly. 🐎

For you cats who follow the horses, I have a question.
Race number 10 was just run, and there was both a horse named Mr. Money and a horse named Mr. Money Bags running in it.
I figured they have similar names because they are blood-related? How are they related?
I looked it up but couldn't find anything.
(Mama had picked Mr. Money as her favorite and he won 🐎)

After that surprise ending, I added a lot of catnip to our mint juleps. Drink up.

Years ago, when they had only two camera shots, the stewarts were more honest. Geeeeeez, all the races Mom has watched over the years, with all the bumping, interference and stumbling horses the stewarts didn't change the order of finish -- especially when it's a race like the Kentucky Derby.
Thanks, Aetheling -- after that decision I need a double mint julep.

Aetheling, to answer your question if Mr. Money and Mr. Money Bags have the same family tree -- it's possible. I checked both of their parents' names and they weren't related there, but it could be further back in the bloodline.
One of my favorite racehorses was Triple Crown winner, Seattle Slew. Every now and then there is a horse that races with "Slew" in part of its name.

Speaking of horses maybe being or not being related. I totally love the Pedigree Query website. It has the pedigrees of the horses listed. It goes back several generations too. You can also click on Reports & check out a horses progeny & so much more. I use this site quite often to view pedigree's, especially before a big race such as The Kentucky Derby. I use it to see who is related to whom, to check on my favorite horses to see who all their foals are, etc. Here's the link: www.pedigreequery.com

Thanks for looking, Apollo.
Thanks, Twinkle, for that link
I glanced through the horses with those names, but it's hard to tell quickly. I'll look when I have more library time. I did see that one of the four Mr Money horses, and one of the two Mr Money Bags horses, are related to Seattle Slew. But I guess, looking at multiple horses with the same name, those two I asked about aren't necessarily related.
Thanks for your info, Apollo and Twinkle
