I bought at Walmart a cheap rechargeable carpet sweeper so when company is coming or I do not have time or feel like dragging out the big vacuum, I just pull out this sweeper and do a quick run on the bad hair areas and done in seconds!

We have one of those rechargeable sweepers to and it works great on tile, it's good to know it works on carpet to. We are remodeling our basement and putting wall to wall carpet but was worried about the litter in the carpet. Does anyone have their litter box on carpet?

I do but what I do is get a cheap bath mat or carpet remnant and put it under it so the litter goes on it. Some still gets on the carpet, but real easy to clean up. What I would love to get is one of these: but they are real expensive

Attachment DeletedThose are really nice but wouldn't work where we have Chewy's box. Her box is in the basement under the stairs. It doesn't really look like its under the steps, it's like a little room.....Chewy's powder room ;-) my husband even put an outlet in so she has a nightlight. Here's a pic, it's still under construction but will give you an idea of where it is. As you see it has old tile and we want to put in wall to wall carpet. I think I will do what you said, put a rug over the carpet and under the litter box. I even thought about not carpeting that area and put ceramic tile in there. But not much litter really gets in that little room, it's all in front of her box

yeah I think a cheap runner rug will work the best, just make sure it doesn't have a rubber backing, I had one that did and it stuck to the carpet.

Thanks for the tip, I wouldn't want that to happen. This carpet is going to cost a lot....so far the price is around $3,000. I thought the remodel would cost under $5,000 HA! More like $10,000 and we didn't even have any plumbing done.

Tessa has this rubber mat that "catches" most of the litter. The name of it is Smart Grip Cat Litter MAt by PetFusion- works very well comes in2 colors- a gray and a beige color.
