First I wanted to start off by posting some history of fillies in the Preakness because provided she doesn't get hurt or sick, there will be a filly running in the Preakness this year named Swiss Skydiver!
I am SO happy! So far only five fillies have won the Preakness Stakes: Rachel Alexandra (2009), Nellie Morse (1924), Rhine Maiden (1915), Whimsical (1906), and Flocarline (1903). It is interesting to note that a filly, Regret, also won the Kentucky Derby in 1915, however she did not start in the Preakness. Here's the info:

The 145th Preakness Stakes is on Saturday, Oct. 3. Coverage begins on NBC, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app at 4:30 p.m. ET. Post Time: 6:45 p.m. ET
Now I am reading this:(5:45 p.m. ET post time, NBC) I'm confused! So it's either at 4:45 or 5:45 pm. Oh well, I'll be watching all the pre-race coverage, so I'll know.
Here are the post positions for the 2020 Preakness Stakes: (I put the filly in pink) No. 1 Excession (30-1) Trainer: Steve Asmussen Jockey: Sheldon Russell

What I'm seeing is the Preakness Pre-Race is on NBC at 3:30 p.m. Daylight Savings Central Time; Preakness Stakes from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
So I think your second coverage times are correct.
Only 11 horses, so the best horse should win.

I don't know when I have ever been so happy about a race ending for a filly! Yes, what a stretch run! Mommy was screaming & freaking out! She has lived for this for the last week praying that she'd win. For a couple of parts of the race, Mommy was scared she was going to get boxed in at the rail. She then got scared that she'd get passed at the last second. History was made today!
GIRL POWER!!!!!!!!

Yes, we were afraid she wouldn't be able to hang on, but she dug in and wouldn't let Authentic pass her.

Now will she run in the Distaff or Classic? Horse of the Year perhaps?

The announcers did mention Horse of the Year and maybe the Classic. She has been in a lot of races this year so maybe her people feel she is in top physical condition and will put her in the Classic.
