Hi All,
Here's the beginning before my vet visit. I've been sick for a week now. I just lay around & only get up when necessary. I'll then just go lay back down. I don't eat much & don't really want to be bothered.
Mommy took me to the vet this past Thursday. He did blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, urine & stool test, you name it. Everything came back normal. I'm down to only 10.2 pounds from 12. He gave me an antibiotic shot & told Mommy to keep an eye on me.
I do get up more & walk around instead of just going right back to bed. I do lay with Mommy some now & want to be petted. I still don't really want to eat & I still lay around a lot. There is some improvement, but not enough. Nobody knows what is wrong with me!
Has anyfur ever been sick & everything came back fine? Mommy is so worried. The vet said that older cats such as myself were more susceptible to have things go wrong. I'm 12. Has anyone else been through this & what did you do?

Twinkle, I do not have an answer for you, but Mama is keeping you in her daily prayers. Maybe you just had a little virus that needs to work itself out? ** for you and your mom ** The fact that everything came back fine seems like a good sign for you

Did he take your blood pressure? Check your teeth?

Sterling has some good suggestions. Perhaps it could be depression? Here's a link with some info about it: www.petmd.com/cat/behavior/can-cats-get-depressedWe're sending you and your mom purrs and prayers that you can find out what's wrong and that you get better soon. 56212493-3468-47fa-ad52-e87f4fa6962e

I don't know what it could be, Twinkle! Maybe you're just slowing down a bit. Nothing unusual about that as you get older--for cats or for their humans, either. Maybe some healing licks would help? *runs to Twinkle to lick her head*

Thanks for the replies so far. Yes, the vet checked my blood pressure & gave me a very comprehensive exam. He couldn't find anything wrong. He's guessing that I might have some sort of infection. I'm slowly, but surely getting better. I'm still not nowhere near 100%, but there has been more improvement. I might be slowing down, but I don't think it would have come on this severe & quickly. Mommy said that she could have probably lit TNT next to me & I wouldn't have moved. That's not normal aging. Awww... head licks... nice. I'll keep everyfur updated.

56212493-3468-47fa-ad52-e87f4fa6962e 12 years old is NOT old, and you have MANY wonderpurr yearS left Twinkle. That aside, I am sorry I do not have some advice for you, but common sense says to me that you are on the road to recovery. I am going to go and purrey for you to the Big Cat next!!!

How are you feeling today, Twinkle? Are you any better? It sounds like the antibiotic is helping you. Are you eating okay now? Guess what--a field mouse got into my palace today and I caught it! (Mom and dad say they're so proud of me for protecting our home!) Do you want to eat it? If so, I'll send it over.

Our vet told Mom once that although cats don't get colds/flu like purrsons do, they do get sick with the same symptoms. So the antibiotics and time for your body to heal will hopefully get you through this; plus all our Power of the Paw purrs for you to get well.

Mommy just got me more of my prescription food for sensitive stomachs. She's going to check my bowl when she gets home. I am eating wet food & treats really well, but I'm still not really wanting dry food. I've started sleeping with Mommy again & I'm not laying around as much. Perhaps I just had some sort of infection, virus or something & it's finally clearing with the help of the antibiotic. It's just that everytime I saw a vet in the past, they always found the problem. This time everything came back great & that confused & worried us. That's why we posted this to see if this ever happened to any of you & what you did about it. I'll continue to keep you posted. You can send that mouse over here Lily. I'd like to bat it around.

*giggles* I don't think it had much fight left in it by the time I was through, Twinkle, but I'll send it anyway. You can bat it around a bit.

Well, I didn't really touch my dry food today. I was dying to be fed when Mommy got home. She pushed the bowl in front of me & sat by me. I did eat 3 bites, but that was all. I've been up sniffing around since she's been home, so that's improvement. I can't wait to get that mouse. I need to build my energy back up.

Do you have allergies? If you do have an allergy and it's clogging up your nose you won't eat, 'cause if cats can't smell their food, they won't eat. Same thing if you do have some sort of "cold" that's clogging your nose.

I do have allergies. Mommy gives me Zyrtec everyday. My allergies don't appear to be acting up. I don't have any of the usual symptoms that I always get when I have an allergy attack. I attack my wet food & treats, but I haven't really wanted to touch my dry food for some reason. All weekend long I kept begging Mommy for wet food & treats. We'll see.
