Don't know if any of you know Tethys; she is in the Movin & Groovin Group. Saw this post on Facebook:
Tethys Fluffkins has been diagnosed with "Soft Tissue Sarcoma", a nasty and aggressive form of "tentacular" cancer. This cancer is in her connective tissue on and under the skin at her front right shoulder (where her right arm is attached to the body, basically) and it sends out cancerous tentacles. Eventually, these can reach the organs and kill the host. I found it on her skin three weeks ago. The vet removed it two weeks ago. I chose to have it sent to a pathologist to find out what it was. I got the results this morning. She is going to have a lot more tissue removed on Monday and then radiation. It's at a "medium" state which isn't horrible but -- well -- to me it's horrible enough, especially as this is a bad cancer (not that there is a good one, but you know what I mean...). I found it because it was perfectly round (almost the size of a dime), chunky and solid in a circle, and a bit open at the skin. It didn't at all feel like a wound and after giving it a couple of days to go away, we went to the vet. The pathologist said to keep digging for more so the vet is removing a lot more of it on Monday. That too will be sent to the pathologist to see if they got all the "margins" of the tentacles. I think that is when we begin radiation. I'm very worried about my sweet little peanut. She's only 11 and one of the sweetest little things on the planet. She loves to have me kiss her forehead and then she kisses mine with a tiny lick.
