Meow! My computer was dead, but dad seems to have resurrected it--I hope it doesn't start acting funny again! *flips tail with annoyance*
Our group often goes on a trip somewhere in the summer--we can always plan a visit to somewhere kitties would like to go.
Kally, if you're an expert on New England foods, maybe you can explain something to my mom. Several times, when in Rhode Island, she has ordered CLAM FRITTERS at a local restaurant. They all have it on the menu--it's like the Rhode Island national dish.
The funny thing is, each time she ordered it she was served a basket of little fried things that definitely looked like fritters. But they didn't seem to have any clam in them--they seemed to be just breading, through and through! Why are they called clam fritters if they don't have any clam?

Great to see you, Kally! I'm glad dad fixed my computer; he had to take the battery out and put it back in again.
Meiko, when my dad isn't fixing computers for me he also makes clam chowder. There are three kinds--regular New England, which has milk in it, so it's white; Rhode Island, which has no milk, so it's clear; and one kind which isn't from New England at all--Manhattan clam chowder, which uses a tomato broth and is red. Which kind do you want to make?

I had a difficult time trying to get just the map.I think ya know wheyah it isThere was a recipe for it & ya know, it's only minced clams a wee bitt. Those coats are beautiful, Gaby! Are they silk? What kind of fabric does your mum use?
Hardly any clams, Kally? What a cheat! I'll tell mom not to bother ordering them anymore.

I have tried the white clam chowder in Boston. It is yum. I have not tried the red one but we have red seafood soup in Australia.

My dad makes a special kind that is sort of in between Rhode Island and Manhattan--it's clear, but he puts pieces of tomato in it along with (lots of!) clams, potato, and onion. Since his name is Van, he calls it Vanhattan clam chowder. *giggles*

Those coats are not silk ones, but the fabric is made from artificial materials- e.g., polyester etc...
I am now thinking of clam pudding- hot and cold ones. I think I may have an idea how to make them. I know you have iron chef TV program in US, how about master chef??

Bye, Kally!
See where, on the map, the bottom of Massachusetts pokes down into Connecticut a little bit (the result of a surveyor's error)? There's a wonderful wildlife sanctuary there, called the Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary, where mom and dad used to go to hike in the fall. It's a beautipurr spot.

Are you a master chef, Gaby?
Polyester is most practical for those beautiful coats. Do you wear them a lot or just when you want to take photos?
