My allergies tend to flare up in warmer weather. The cooler weather helps get rid of some of the things I'm allergic to. Also the autumn colors are beautiful. It's interesting to look out & see pretty leaves on the trees & falling all over the ground.

I have a vertical carpeted scratching post and a horizontal cardboard scratcher. I also have a carpeted cat tree I can scratch. I actually do use them, but I also like to try the sofa sometimes, which really ticks off Mom. She seems to think that having three things I'm supposed to scratch is enough. I personally like having a few more options! *giggles*
I'm inside all the time, so the change in seasons doesn't affect me much, except that I tend to get skin allergies in the summer and scratch myself a lot. This summer I also got fleas for the first time since I was a kitten. I had to go to the vet for allergy shots and flea treatment. I'm much better now, and hopefully I won't have to worry about that till next summer. In our part of Texas, our autumns are pretty short. This year we've had a very warm October with only a couple of brief cool spells so no drastic temperature changes yet. I can tell you that Mom's favorite part of autumn is the cooler weather!

I like the cooler weather because my humans stay inside more. But I also like to watch the pretty leaves fly!

TUESDAY QUESTION--November 22
Thursday will be my first Thanksgiving in my forever home, and I'd like to know what to expect! What is Thanksgiving like at your house? I know there's supposed to be a lot of food. What are you eating?

Mom's family has always had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, with turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and usually green bean casserole, or sometimes just plain peas or green beans. For dessert, different kinds of pie - Mom prefers chocolate over pumpkin. Her brother likes pumpkin. In recent years, Mom, her brother, and Grandma have often gone out to eat, but they usually stick with the traditional fare.
If they eat at home, Grandma's cats and I do get a little turkey! Mom says they'll probably be eating out this year because Grandma isn't up to trying to cook, and Mom is a lousy cook. *giggles* I hope they bring home some leftovers.

Mommy always makes deviled eggs & sausage balls. Sometimes she makes a chocolate chip cheesecake. I'll bother her while she cooks. Grandma does the turkey & ham with dressing, macaroni, green bean casserole, candied yams, gravy & rolls. Sometimes she'll make fudge and/or heavenly hash too. Mommy takes her food over to grandmas for Thanksgiving & I stay home alone. I had a bad experience with some turkey & dressing once, I threw it right up, so I don't think I'll get any food. That's ok, Mommy gives me wet food, dry food & treats daily!

That all sounds great, Twinkle and Coco! But I'll just have to keep wondering about Thanksgiving at my house, because it's just about over now and I missed the whole thing! (I wrote about the horrifying details in my diary, in case you are interested.)

TUESDAY QUESTION--November 29
This week's question comes from Twinkle. She asks, "What would be an ideal day for you?"

Sunny day, Mom sitting out with me and climbing on tractor barn roof for my nap.

My ideal day is having Mommy home so that I can get attention & get petted when I want. I love jumping on the couch to sit with her for a little while if she's watching TV. I could get my pet & purr on as Mommy calls it when I demand it, yet I could also curl up on something in the spare bedroom for alone & nap time. Having her around so I can beg for treats is ideal too.

My ideal day would be a sunny day so I can lounge by the back door soaking up the sun, and to have Mom home so I can get extra attention and lap time when I want it, and treats of course!

Lily, I read your diary and I'm sorry you missed Thanksgiving dinner! Don't feel bad - I did, too, for a different reason. Mom, her brother and Grandma ate out for Thanksgiving, and didn't bring home any leftovers for us cats! That's just wrong! At least your parents saved you some. Don't feel bad - next year will be here before you know it, and you have all that time to practice and perfect your begging technique.

Thanks, Coco--I'll definitely call on you for tips! I want to do it right next year!
For me, an ideal day would of course mean having the humans home to attend to me. I'd also like to have all the closet doors open so I could pick and choose just the right secluded spot for my midday nap!

TUESDAY QUESTION- December 6th 2016
I thought I'd go ahead & post it if you don't mind Lily.
If you could be a human for a day, what would you do?

The first thing I would do is try to get some sense, because I don't think humans really have any!
Then I would go around the house and open all the doors, and all the drawers, and all the cabinets!
