I'm sorry your mom isn't well, Twinkle. Being sick can definitely make you feel tired out. Sorry about her hand, too. That really must have hurt. Has she been to the doctor to have it checked out?
We send her lots of get well purrs.

Sorry to hear about your mum. Is she better now. Mum just had a big flu last week and she is still coughing. Your mum just feels tired?

Being an Angel, I just fly wherever I want to go. Mommy rarely leaves the house. She works onsite downtown every Thursday & works from home the other days. She went to the doctor & they checked her for flu & Covid. That was negative. They did 3 X-rays on her hand. That's how she knows exactly what's wrong. The doctor said it could take up to 4 weeks to heal.

That's good she had the X-rays done and no broken bones at least. But it is still painful and yes, those injuries do take time to heal.
Mom is recovering from a knee injury and surgery to fix it, so she can sympathize with the pain and the recovery time.

How bad is having knee surgery? Mommy has bad knees too. Heck, she has bad almost everything. The idea of having surgery on certain parts such as a knee is very scary to her.

Depends on the type of surgery. For Mom's injury they did have to make an incision and go in to repair the fracture because it was slightly displaced. Not going to lie, it is painful for the first few days after the surgery, but pain meds keep it under control and it gets better as time goes on. It is a lengthy recovery. Mom had the surgery on February 19, and she just got the leg brace off six days ago and is now walking with a cane. She's doing physical therapy and will probably be mostly back to normal by the end of May if things continue to progress well. She was fortunate to have an excellent surgeon and therapists to help her recover.

Knee replacement surgery is also invasive so probably has a similar recovery time to Mom's. If they just have to repair tendons or ligaments, they can often do arthroscopic surgery which has a much shorter recovery time because it's not invasive. That's about all Mom knows.

Mommy needs to find a good ortho doctor. The one she has now is about 80 & it shows. He not the good doctor he once was. I've lost faith in him for many reasons. I need to find another good one. That's not always so easy.

It is important to have doctors you know you can trust. Maybe she could talk to some people who might be able to give her recommendations or just do some online research. I hope she finds someone she likes.
Mom needs to clean up the kitchen and get ready for bed, so I need to get going. Hope you can stop by again tomorrow for awhile! Hope your mom gets to feeling better soon.
On Sundays we usually chat between 11 am and 2 or 2:30 pm Central time.
Good night and take care!
