Rainbow Bridge Kitties is a group for those of us who are Bridge angels to get together for support and fellowship. We are a longtime group from Catster. We have an all day come and go party every Sunday. We usually start in the morning and go until evening (around 6:30-7 p.m. CT), so you can pop in and out as your parents' schedules permit. We will have our first Sunday party here after Catster closes, probably on August 14. Please introduce yourself here and join us on Sundays as we continue our Catster tradition and meet new friends!

Hello. My name is Buddy..but since there are a few angel's by the name of Buddy on Catster, when it was my time to rest at the Bridge, my Meowmy gave me this, Buddy My Angel..
On Catster, I belonged to a few Angel groups..glad I can be a part of one of the groups on this site. It means alot to Meowmy, as we know, over time, there will be more angels coming and new angels, too. Groups like this are so important.
Anyway, when I first joined Catster, I wasn't an angel..I lived a good long life..I was between 17 and 19 years old and looked real good for my age..thats what the vet told Meowmy on that fateful day. It took Meowmy a long time to heal, where she can say my name without starting to cry..she knows what its like to hurt and be lonely and missing on me, even though there are other kitties at home..I helped her heal by sending two more little girls to the family over time..So I, Buddy, who started the dynasty in my furmily, is a Papa, and a Grandpa now..and I watch over my furmily with love and admiration

Oh Buddy, that was a beautiful introduction! My name is Wolfgangg, and meowmy named my whole name as Wolfgangg Amadeus Cat--"Wolfgangg A. Cat", get it, mol?). I gots the extra G because even on erf, I was a very zoomie boy, lots of energy and loves to play. Meowmy was furry close to me and I gots jealous if other kits tried to get pets and loves from her, 'cept for my brofur Ulysses, we was always together since birth, and we loves each other. I was on Catster since 2005, but meowmy wrote my page after I went to the Bridge. I went to the bridge on October 3 2002, which meowmy sez iz a special feast for St. Francis, call the "transitus"(is the day HE wents to heaven, meowmy sez). So when I went to the bridge Meowmy asked St. Francis to watch out fur me, special. An' sometimes we still visits, he is extra special nice! (Altho, NOT meowmy). I was 12 when I came to da' bridge, very unexpectedly, during a vet visit. meowmy was very, very sad for a longest time, altho I kept tryin' to tell her i was ok. Now, she still misses me, but we haz talked since then and she knows I am always watching over her, and we will be together again someday and we iz never really apart.
I iz a fun loving kitty and looks forward to lots of friendship and fun wif my angel kit friends.

Welcome, Buddy and Wolfgangg, and thank you for sharing such beautiful stories. Mom and I also think it's important to have these Rainbow Bridge groups to help give support and encouragement to our parents and for us to get together and have some fun, too. I hope y'all can join us here on Sundays!
My name is Felix and I lived with Mom from the time I was a kitten until I went to the Bridge in October 2012, after I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I was a month short of my 13th birthday. It all happened very quickly and was really tough for Mom. I visited her a couple of times at night - I got next to her on the bed like I always did when I was with her. Later I sent Coco to her when she was ready to love a new kitty.
Mom named me after Felix the Cat, one of her favorite childhood cartoon characters. Just like the original Felix, I'm a friendly, laid-back kitty.

Post by Angel Tobbie on Aug 9, 2016 6:51:59 GMT -5
Hi, my name is Tobbie and I am the ancestor of Gaby and Possum. I earned a bachelor degree in hunting and was a six-dinner cat in the student’s dormitory. Mum used to help feeding a black female feral called Maxi (my ancestor). Then one day, Maxi brought her 4 kittens and her feral husband Tommy (my boss) to mum. Then mum fed 6 cats. May be it is nature, the kittens left and Maxi left. So, Tommy brought me to mum at the world cup final day in 1994 and then he also disappeared. Since then I looked after the dormitory. Mum’s friend lived in a townhouse. His neighbour moved out and left Momo behind. So Momo came to my house in 1995. I was not too happy. Momo was too beautiful and everybody loved her. Even the vet nurse played with her and cried when they knew she needed to cross the bridge. When mum went to work overseas in 1998, mum’s flatmate Auntie Narissa looked after us for years till Mum came back. Momo and I cared for each other very much. When I got kidney failure and mum chased after me to take medication, Momo would yell at me to cooperate with mum.
Mum always has a habit of putting holy water on our foreheads, especially when we needed to cross the bridge. She always told us that Mum’s mum and grandma will be waiting for us and so we don’t need to worry. Jesus loves to see us as well. Mum always feels guilty because she is not experienced in recognising and nursing old/sick cats. I am her first guinea pig. At hindsight, she said I suffered too much. She should have sent me to Jesus earlier. So, when Momo started to show symptoms, mum sent her to the bridge immediately.
On the day when I crossed the bridge. Mum said goodbye to me and she went home. The vet was just 10min drive from our home. When mum got out of the car in the garage, she said she smelt a strong smell of me in the garage. I hardly went to the garage. Mum believed that my soul went back home with her (in fact I did). As soon as she opened the door into the house, the smell was gone because I knew I didn’t need to worry about her and could cross the bridge by then. Mum guessed that I was around 15 when I crossed the bridge.

Hi, I am Momo. I am also the ancestor of Gaby and Possum. After I had crossed the bridge, mum had in mind what type of cat she wanted later. So, I gave her Gaby. Gaby has white front paws and white stockings in her hind leg- exactly like me. Mum originally just wanted to keep one cat but then Tobbie played the trick, he made sure that mum also needed to look after Possum. So, for 3 generations (Maxi and Tommy, Gaby and Possum, and Tobbie and me), mum had to look after a pair of cats that care for each other. Tobbie and Possum are quite outdoor but Possum would not sleep inside the house at night like Tobbie. Tobbie and Possum always lose a lot of cat collars. I am famous for being beautiful. Everybody loves me and said I am so soft. I am lucky because mum learnt from Tobbie and took good care of me. So, I did not suffer much before I crossed the bridge. As usual, mum put some holy water on me and told me to look for her mum, her grandma, Tobbie and Jesus when I crossed the bridge at 16-17 y.o. Tobbie and I are always happy because we always sit next to Jesus.

Hello, everycat I am Boots. I was named by the mother of Ætheling's and Rosco's mama---their Gram-Gram. When she went to Heaven, I was taken in by Rosco's pawrents, over his strenuous objections. After I went to the Bridge, they adopted Ætheling from the shelter, again over Rosco's objections. I was intimidated by Rosco, and I stayed on the second floor, while he stayed on the first floor. But Ætheling was not intimidated. Ætheling intimidated Rosco! If only I had known it was so easy to scare him! MOL!

Post by Athena (In Memory) on Aug 13, 2016 17:19:55 GMT -5
Hello! My name is Athena. The big lump that looks like me, only bigger, is my littermate brother, Apollo. Mom named him Apollo because she knew he was going to grow up and be so handsome that everyone would look at him like the ancients watched the God, Apollo, as he drove his golden chariot across the sky. Yeah, right ... So God Apollo had a sister named Athena and that's how I got my name. We joined Catster just one month after it started, in 2004 and we're glad to be one of the first to be members at Here Kitty. I am one of the few furs that doesn't mind posing for pictures, so Mom could put hats and jewelry on me and I would hold still until she took several pictures. I was very close with Mom and even as a 5 week old kitten I would follow her around the house. Mom took lots of pictures and always thought that both of us were following her around, but when she finally figured out how to tell us apart, she realized it was me who was doing all the following. I helped Mom through her operations and never left her side, purring to relieve her pain. I was with Mom for 16 years until she had to help me to the Bridge because of chronic kidney failure. A few weeks later I appeared to let her know I was OK and watching over her. Purrs and Love,

Hi! I'm Apollo and Athena's brother. Mom chose us at our local no-kill shelter. We were brought there by a woman whose husband said he would drown us if she "wouldn't get rid of those cats." So our life with Mom started when we were 5 weeks old. I grew to be bigger than Athena and my fur was longer and more silky. We both liked to climb trees and Mom grew adapt at getting the ladder out and "helping" us out of the trees. Mom also would take us to our horse barn every day where we would look for and try to catch mousies. Although Athena was the real "camera cat", I posed pretty good, too and some of my Christmas pics are Mom's favorite of me. Athena went to the Bridge in October so our home was pretty quiet for that Christmas and my last Christmas with Mom. A few months later my health started to decline and Mom took me to a specialist for a sonogram that showed spots of cancer on my intestines. The scan also showed that my kidneys were perfect and didn't look like those of a 16 year old cat. How ironic that Athena's kidneys were the death of her and mine were healthy. I was able to celebrate my 17th birthday in April, but I stopped eating soon after that and Mom knew it was time. Holding me in her arms as the vet proceeded, Mom said I was her only fur that looked straight into her eyes and held eye contact. The last second my eyes gave a surprised look and Mom's heart broke, thinking I realized she was betraying me for what she was doing. That final stare bothered her for a number of days until it suddenly came to her -- my eyes weren't accusing her ... in that very last moment, looking through her, the surprise in my eyes was that I saw Athena waiting for me at the Bridge. Love ya!

Post by Aragorn (In Memory) on Aug 13, 2016 18:29:57 GMT -5
Hello, everyone, I'm Aragorn, the third cat of what some cats know as The A Team (Athena, Apollo and myself). I came before Athena and Apollo. Mom had gone to a stable, looking to buy another horse. Well, she didn't get the horse, she got me! I was running around a bush next to the barn, a skinny, little black cat. The stable owners said Mom could take me so I came home with her. One cat was enough for Mom back then, plus I was one of those cats who want to rule the house without any other felines around. When I was six years old I started having heart problems but the vet put me on lasix and that was good for another four years, but just before my 10th birthday my heart gave out while I was sleeping. Every so often Mom still feels my tail touching her leg or me jumping on the bed. Purrs and Peace,
