People are so amazed when they come to our house and see a rope going into the bushes in our back yard. They ask what type of dog it is and I have to respond that its not a dog it is my cat! I trained Macy when he was very young to be on a harness and a long rope so he has nice range of the yard. He will sit by the door and wait for it to be put on, and if he gets stuck even on the tiniest twig he will sit and wait for me to pull the rope so he is free of what ever he is stuck on. We are now in the process of training Sonny, but he is still too freaky when he gets snagged to allow him to go out without supervision.

People used to look at Talems and ask why do you have a harness and leash outside, your yard is fenced in . He used to just lay in the sun with the dogs and then later mom would take him for a walk. At the bottom in my signature is a pic of all of them outside.

i was trained to leash as a kitten . i trained the dog ( xena cgc ) to leash when she was a pup . we go for walks together when weather is warm . when it is cold and snowy i let my people go with out me xena always tells me about their walks like she can make me go also .
cats are smarter than dogs and people .
