He could eat 24 hrs a day- we feed him wet food twice a day- 3/4 small can at each feeding then about a total of 3/4 to 1cup dry food throughout the day (If we put it out at once he eat it all!)- Vet thinks this is more than enough (he weighs quite a bit 14.6 pounds- over weight)- the other night he got across from my husband (the cat's fav person) and talked very meanly for off and on 30 minutes and didn't stop til I gave him a little dry food. What's up? He scares me!

So no worms or other parasites? How did you get Bootis? was he a rescue? I know any feral cat or a cat I have gotten from a shelter has that need to eat and eat fast, I think I wwas they thoought they better eat before it was stolen from them.

Ms. Macy- vet checked him for worms and other things ... my husband says the same thing he was out on his own for 2 yrs not knowing when he might eat next BUT it's been 2 yrs we've now had him- thought that feeling/thought would go away . It intrferes wqhen Tessa eats- she's a grazer- just eats a few dry morsels and then quits and comes back in awhile and munches more. So I have to pick up her dish everytime or he (Bootie) will eat it all.

i was a picky eater until a new cat joined the family then i ate everything in sight to keep her from eating it . after she left i continued to eat that way until my people quit leaving food out for me they even got the dog in on it after she caught me chewing her rawhide .
[ IT SOUNDS LIKE HE HAS YOU TRAINED TO OVER FEED HIM . TRY HIM JUST THE DRY AMOUNTS AND NO CAN FOOD UNTIL WEIGHT STARTS DROPPING . YOU WILL NEED AN IRON WILL AND EAR PLUGS . IT TOOK GRACIE TWO YEARS TO GET WEIGHT DOWN TO WHAT VET WANTED . IF THE CAT IS AN OUTDOOR CAT YOU WILL NEVER GET THE WEIGHT OFF.]

Did the vet check for diabetic or thyroid issues? My female cat was a stray, and she eats like it's her last meal, so I measure food out for the 2 cats 2x per day. It keeps the stealing to a minimum.
