Uh oh!
1. Nest 2. We The People 3. Mo Donegal
We like Creative Minister, too, but we'll go with Mo Donegal and hope the filly can beat the boys. With such a small field, I'm thinking there will be maybe 5 horses together at the top of the stretch.

Ætheling and I made our usual Belmont cocktails for everyone. Help yourselves!
The Belmont Jewel has bourbon, lemonade, pomegranate juice, and orange zest.

The White Carnation has vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, Club soda, and cream.

The Belmont Breeze has whiskey, Harvey's Bristol cream, sugar syrup, lemon juice, orange juice, cranberry juice, 7-Up, club soda.

Ooooooooooo, I'm going to have a White Carnation! Thank you, Bootsie and Ætheling!
Order of Finish in The Belmont:
1. MoDonegal 2. Nest 3. Skippylongstocking 4. We The People 5. Creative Minister 6. Rich Strike 7. Barber Road 8. Golden Glider
The filly, Nest finished strongly and easily beat all the boys except for MoDonegal. Rich Strike was last throughout the race, passing only 2 horses to finish sixth. Talking with his trainer after the race, the trainer said it was his fault, instrucing the jockey to keep Rich Strike off the rail and it caused him to fight with his jockey and not settle and relax. You could see in the replay that "Ritchie" wanted to get to the rail.

Thank you, Ætheling. Everyone had We The People somewhere on their order of finish. He did finish fourth.
Before the race they had a bit about how Rich Strike will be kept from biting his lead pony. The guy in charge said RS would have the same lead pony if he won that he had in the warmup. The camera followed them while on the track and warming up and RS was trying to bite the pony and the pony's rider jerked on the lead every time RS tried to bite (which is what I would do -- that horse needs to be taught manners.) Whether it was trying to bite the pony or not being able to, RS was working himself into a lather (the announcers mentioned it) and was not relaxed as he entered the starting gate.

Congrats Athena (In Memory) for picking the winner. It's made me sick the way so many act like Rich Strike is some hero or something for winning the Kentucky Derby under such long odds. Afterward he showed conduct very detrimental to the sport. If a human had acted like that, they'd have been arrested & perhaps gotten a lifetime ban from the sport. I think that horse is crazy & shouldn't be allowed to run. On a much more positive note, I am proud of Nest. She raced one heck of a race. If she had broke well, she very well might have won!

Well, I think Rich Strike will be put in the group, "Horses that finished first in the Kentucky Derby and were never heard from again."
