I think there are more accidents and disqualifications because of whipping, not no whipping. If someone starts hitting you on one side, you're going to move to the other side to get away from it.
After the race the announcers brought up the no whip rule. One of the announcers was retired jockey, Jerry Bailey (one of my favorites and a great jockey). He said if he was still riding he probably would be on the jockeys' side and be able to use the whip, BUT, after being retired for a number of years and with Racing PR telling the public that the horses are well-cared for and love to run, how could a horse be happy and love to run if he/she is being whipped during a race? Bailey said he now sides with the public and thinks that whips should not be allowed.

Thanks for posting that video. Wow, glad horse and jockey were OK. It could’ve been worse I keep missing these posts, so I bookmarked this thread now, too.

Four races during the meeting are “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series qualifiers for the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, to be held this Nov. 4-5 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. Winners of these four stakes will receive a guaranteed, expenses-paid spot in the starting gate for a designated Breeder’s Cup race. The aforementioned Queen Anne Stakes and King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday are “Win and You’re In” qualifiers for the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile and the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, respectively, while Wednesday’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes is a Challenge Series qualifier for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf.
The Group 2 Norfolk Stakes, held as the opening race on Royal Ascot’s Thursday June 16 card, is a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.
Where to Watch:
NBC Sports will show racing from Royal Ascot, with the Tuesday to Friday races available on its Peacock streaming service and the races on Saturday, June 18, broadcast live on NBC and also on Peacock, NBCSports.com, and the NBC Sports app starting at 9 a.m. ET. Streaming will begin on Peacock at 8:30 a.m. ET Tuesday through Friday.
The entire Royal Ascot meet will also be televised live each day on TVG.

Mom taped the weekday races and watched and recorded Saturday's Ascot. It's better this way because she can fast forward through all the blah, blah and get to the actual races. She needs to watch the Friday races. All were close races.

Sterling can laugh at anything I post anywhere, anytime. Flightline is great, don't get me wrong, but I am so sick of hearing so many compare him to Secretariat! Please they are 2 totally different horses from totally different decades with different trainers & everything! Just because Flightline is related to Secretariat, that's one reason why so many are talking this way. I'm glad they retired him. Hopefully soon I will quit hearing all this & I am glad he got to retire undefeated since so few do.
