Oh my goodness! I'm glad you're OK, Shade!

Thanks. I feel much better, but hate going to the vet's. I meow all the way there.

It could be worse! Jerry hates the car so much that he always pees in the carrier and makes a mess of himself. Even though our vet is only 10 minutes away!

Yeah. Sundance is like that. Either poops or pees in the blankie mom puts in the carrier.

Guess, there wasn't much of an eclipse up your way, huh?
It wasn't 100% by us either.

It was pretty good! It was about 94%, more than the one in 2017. Mom and Gramma watched it from the forest preserve by Gramma's place. Did your mom get to see it?

Yes. She had glasses this time. But looking through the glasses the sun was the size of a pea. Not that exciting. It was better watching it speeded up on TV. And we had about 98-99% and it didn't get very dark at all. More like a cloud over the sun.

Mom saved her glasses from 2017, but Gramma didn't have any. She didn't tell mom until late Saturday night. Mom had to work on Sunday, so she had to go out after work and try to find some. She went to seven different stores before she found a pair for Gramma!

Our drug store had them at the checkout so they were available to mom this time. Last time no one had them.

There were a lot of stores here that had them this year, too! They just sold out before Gramma told mom she still needed some. In 2017, mom stood in line for 3 hours at Grant Park to get some from the Adler Planetarium.

Mom isn't that dedicated.

Well, Gramma was visiting from Michigan that year and mom was getting glasses for both of them. Gramma didn't save hers, though!

Mom saves everything. But most of the time she forgets where she put it.

Herbie: Yeah, mom loses stuff she was saving all the time, too! Last time, she put her glasses in a book and put it in her bookcase so she'd be able to find it. When it was time to get them back out, she had to look through three shelves of books because she couldn't remember which book she put them in!
