Mom doesn't watch supernatural movies 'cause they could be true. But, I guess slasher stuff could be true, too.
Now when mom read The Boston Strangler book, it really scared her. That was the only time a book scared her, but it was true, too.

Athena, mama read the Boston strangler book and watched the movie, but it didn’t scare her. But she wouldn’t watch any Stephen King or those scary horror movies.
But she likes movies like the blob, or attack of the killer tomatoes, or attack of the killer shrews, you know non-scary ones. Or some cat mentioned, funny ones like young Frankenstein and Ghostbusters.

Mom is a big believer in the supernatural, we live right down the road from a large haunted place, its really popular around here.

Mama has an online friend who was 8-9 years old when the Blob movie came out. She went to a lot of movies because her dad was the projectionist.
She was in the theater watching the Blob movie, and it got to the scene where the Blob flows into the projection room and consumes the projectionist. 😵
The little girl was terrified, knowing her dad was alone up in the projection room. She told mama she was crying and hysterical because she was afraid for her dad. She thought he was being eaten

Mom wasn't scared of the Boston Strangler movie because Tony Curtis played the strangler. Who could be scared of Tony Curtis?

Yes, the Blob was goofy, but it kept your attention, wondering who was going to get blobbed next, especially not the little dog!

A young lady mom worked with a while ago said she always had her husband sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door in case something/someone came in, her husband would be grabbed first and it would give her a chance to get away.
