When our collie, Amber, was still with us, she was so scared of fireworks. She would shake and pant so hard. Mom tried turning both TV's on loud to try to drown out the noise, but it didn't help much.
Then, Amber's last year with us she had gone pretty much deaf. That was one positive time she didn't hear the fireworks and was relaxed.

That’s good that was a blessing that came from losing her hearing, that she could relax during the fireworks.

We have been doing really well with no loud booms the past 2 years. I think the guy across the street got a talking to by the wife.

She was the perfect dog. She would always come when Mom called her; always listened and did what Mom asked her to do. She was "super" when visiting the nursing home and everyone there loved her. She would start barking when we first came in and the residents would say it was an "Amber Alert"!

Well, we didn't have anything last year because of COVID, but there is someone in our town who must be competing with St. Louis for fireworks displays. His fireworks last a full hour!

Amber must’ve been a really awesome dog! What a good girl. And how fun for the residents to call out Amber Alert when they heard her coming!
There is a home about a quarter mile from us who does professional type fireworks display, the fire department helps with it. I think the trees at their place must’ve gotten taller in the last 20 years, because it seems we used to be able to see more of them. They usually do it in September though, i’m not sure why.

Maybe they test them for New Years fireworks?

Dad decided to stay home this year and did not even look to see what was around us. There are a few so we will see after dusk what is going on around here Amber sounds like a sweetie. Dad had a Yellow Lab named Spunky. He was a great dog except he got his nose too close to Pee Girls kittens one time. She chased him out or the kitchen on her two back legs moving forward hissing and boxing him the whole way. He ran through the kitchen after that but only if Dad walked with him MOL. He was just curious he was so gentle

Timmy, I know I should feel bad for Spunky, but as a cat, I have to say that would’ve been fun to watch! MOL!
Sundance, they have done New Year’s eve fireworks a couple of times in the 20 years we’ve been here, but not usually. Not a big display I mean. The September one is a big 20 to 30 minute professional type looking display.

Athena, Let’s you and I cut the rug, too! It’s hard to sit still when the Andrews sisters are singing.

** The two couples twirl around the floor showing off their moves **
** The other boy cats start solo jitterbugging, they just can’t sit still when they hear the music.**
